I swear I have heard a wonderful song by this title from Bob, but am unable to locate it anywhere. Was it just a dream? Can anyone help?

YES! You have heard that song. It does exist. It's one of my favorites. It comes across to me as very sad and melancholy. It is on a CD I bought just a few years ago. I forget which one just now, but when I get home from work I'll look it up. If nobody's posted it already by then, I'll let you know the album it's on so you can find it.
You'd have better exposure to more readers if you posted your question on the regular Bob Seger discussion forum at the top of the main page. Either place works fine, but that one gets read more than this one.

Jody Girl is another song of his that is similar to The Ring. But I think The Ring is better. Both songs make me think of a time in my own life, long ago...

The song, "The Ring" is on Bob Seger's album "Like A Rock."
It's the 4th track.
Not sure where else you might find it. Great tune.
