Woods provided the tournament with a boost last week when he committed to playing in Grand Blanc Township even though it will likely lead to him playing in three straight tournaments. He and rock legend Bob Seger highlight Wednesday’s pro-am and will be followed by a throng of fans, starting with their 7 a.m. tee time.

Man, I wish I could see that. I don't know why, but I can't ever open or download video files on the web. It's not the dial up connection I have, because the link doesn't even open at all. I can click on it and I get no response. Only with video files, afaik.
Too bad.
Anyway, I heard Bob sliced a good one right into the crowd, and shot another one way off to somewhere else, but also got some pretty good shots. It was all for fun, and I bet it was. They walked, and Bob mentioned that he was pretty shot, at the end He said he just isn't used to all that walking, that he's a rider, not a walker.

Man what a pairing! Sure wish I could have been there to see it live, but glad the news covered it! It's fun to see my idol in awe of his, Seger seems like such a regular guy hanging tough out there! Cool!

I went out there this morning, forgot my camera though. I saw him on 5 or 6 holes, got a fist bump (would've preferred an autograph on my ticket stub from March 17, 2007, but still cool) between 16 and 17. The article was correct, he didn't play very well and looked very tired by the end, but he seemed like he was having fun. On the 12th green he and Tiger were talking quite a bit and joking around, he even got Tiger to laugh, which you don't see much when he's on a golf course. Very cool to see him out there, I didn't bother following for all 18 holes, I'd see them on a hole, then jump ahead 3 or 4 holes, see some of the other guys and have a much better view when they came through since I was there before the big crowds showed up.

That is great. Thanks for posting all of that. I am glad you got to go jdaunt.
I got an email yesterday from the sister in law of George Seger about this. She was hoping that the attachements would come through. She had not been online for a while. I asked her in another email if she would be there. Or if George would be there.
Have not heard anything back yet from her. She lives in Michigan also. Just part of the year. If she was there I hope she sends photos. I am glad though that Bob got to tee off. Thanks again for posting this in the whole new thread that someone else started.

Is it just me, or is Mr. Seger not looking so good these days? Kinda sad.

I was emailed a link to an audio recording of Bob in an interview just after the game.
He admitted to being tired, said he's never walked a course. He says he's a 'cart guy'.
He also said,
" I made three bombs, 2, 4 and 6. I made three bombs and had a few each time. So I felt good about that. I'm no golfer, so I don't know what he means by three bombs. That would sound bad to me, but he says he feels good about that. ??
I did read that he hit some really good putts and in the end his score wasn't bad at all.
Here's a link to the recorded interview, if it's still active -
http://www.mlive.com:80/buickopen/index.ss...-bob-seger.htmlThere is a control to download the audio just below and on the right of the first picture. Also a printed comment is there.
The audio recording is really great, because it's a very relaxed interview with him, and everyone is very laid back.

The bombs he was talking about were long putts.
