Full Version: Live in 1974
Bob Seger > Bob Seger > Bob Seger

I understand a live concert from 1974 will be released March 3rd. I don't know if this is the Denver concert from that year, only that it was from the tour backing the album "Seven". I have one copy reserved from a distributor, and just to make sure, I went down the block to my local CD store. They also have a release date of March 3rd. This is the store that bagged me 8 second row center seats for Bobs' show in DC on the FTP tour, so I trust the local folks. If anyone has any other info, please post here.
I have been told it will include live versions of Rosalie, Get Out of Denver, & Ramblin' Gamblin' Man.
Hell, I hope this is legit, Bob doesn't seem to care about his early stuff, but the fans on this site sure do!
Stay cool,

Lenny, this is good news. You sound a bit doubtful about the validity of the news, which is understandable, but what sources do you have? If they're credible, maybe it's for real. A google search brought me nothing.

Good to hear from you, Mr D! Tower records, among other web sites, has it listed. My local CD store (who know their stuff) said the release date is March 3rd. I have not been able to get a listing of tracks, but since this was from the "Seven" tour and is supposed to have the song "Rosalie" I hope it includes something like "Stealer" (a Free song Mr Seger did on "Back in 72"), or some of his other older songs that were off the set list by the time of "Live Bullet".
Sorry I don't know more, if anyone has any better info please post! I'll pass on anything else I learn.

Maybe the site admins know something? How 'bout it Funky Al & SWFL Ken? Your sources gotta be better than mine!

Yeah, Mark I was doubtful, but when I saw it listed on Tower records I got my hopes up!

I just received an email from a forum member with a link to segerfile. There, they're talking about a collection of tunes that appeared on itunes a few weeks ago. It's said to be all old stuff and called Live In America, and is the same thing that has been traded under some other name in the past.
In any case, Segerfile comments that it appears to be bootleg, not a new legitamet release.
But in your case, are you talking about a new CD that will appear in the record stores?
If so, that would be very welcome news. Keep us posted, pease????

Mr D, I don't know anything about this segerfile, all I know is there's a chance to get a 74 concert. And if Mr Seger dosen't want to release this, or if his record company doesn't want to release this then I'l buy the damn thing! I have bought every "legit" Seger album I could find, if Mr Seger doesn't want to release his older stuff, well he can't complain about his fans wanting to hear his music. There was some great music on those old albums, if he has a problem with that well, that's not our cross to bear, as the Allman Bros used to say.

Well I just did a search on Amazon.com (expecting to get nothing) and low and behold there it was. However no picture was available of this CD at Amazon. Also this CD is listed as an "import", meaning you'll have to work a little harder to get it. Currently they have copies available from several vendors including one "used" copy at a slightly reduced price. Should be an interesting "time capsule" as this concert will exclusively feature his material prior to his meteoric rise in fame. As several members here have already pointed out Bob actually have a relatively successful music career prior to 1975.
Just curious if Bob is aware of this release and does it have his blessings? I ask because Bob seems a bit embarrassed by his songs written prior to "Beautiful Loser". Might want to buy this CD while you can before Bob finds out and throws a fit!
