Well if ebay is any indication I've hardly seen anything other then the normal stuff you could get anywhere. A few exceptions do appear such as "Live from Saratoga Springs" comes to mind. Other then that there's not much of anything to speak of. I've also looked at websites such as Gemm & Music stack as well with no results whatsoever.
I've always figured if you want to see how popular a music artist/group is just see to what extent he, or she has a bootleg following. That being the criteria, Bob Seger comes up way empty compared to Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, etc. In fact, Bob's last few tours haven't generated anything in the way of audience recorded live bootleg's let alone "soundboard" editions at all. I thought for sure some enterprising dude would've have done something after his most recent "Face the Promise tour" but sadly none are to be found. In fact going backward from his last several tours, hell pick any tour of his for that matter, there's nothing. Could it be that Bob Seger fans are just more law abiding, considerate fans or perhaps they're more technologically challenged, you tell me. Its almost if Bob's legacy doesn't matter beyond the few fanatical fans who cluster around web sites such as this one. Compared to the likes of Bruce Springsteen for example, it would be hard to believe that at one time Bob Seger could match Bruce Springsteen in popularity both in touring & in record/CD sales. Bob Seger is a icon of a very specific (limited) time period. That's it.
In my opinion Bob and his record company are to blame for his lack of popularity. Bob prefers to keep a low profile and Capital Records is content to do nothing to promote him. So if by chance there are some good quality (soundboard) recordings out there, please let us know. But quite honestly, if there were, they'd already been out and about by now.

Well, it seems to me that in the world of pop and rock music, the big sellers are those who appear in the media the most. Not always the best talent, just the most heard from. Note, heard FROM, not just heard.
Springsteen still gets his name in the media on a regular basis, and just to help it along he sticks his nose into politics to support his favorite candidates.
Others do the same.
Not a lot different from movie actors. They continuously do silly, stupid stuff just to get their mug in the news. This sells songs or movies. Or both. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to have media exposure.
Some people have noticed that Bob tends to keep his nose clean, and his face out of the news. He's a quiet seeming individual who prefers to just work with his music when he's in the mood, and if people buy it, fine, and if they don't, well that's their problem.
Because of the above, there isn't likely to be a lot of demand for stolen music. Besides, it's avialable so easily via honest means, why steal it? Just for the challenge? Not much challenge. It wouldn't be difficult.
And that brings up recordings of concerts. Seems to me that a pretty good video was released on you tube not long after Bob closed up the FTP tour. It was done at Cobo Hall, IIRC. Now, that takes a little doing, to get a camera in there past security. But to record takes little technological ability. Just stuff a small but decent recorder where you know the frisker will miss it, and you're in. Turn it on, let it run. Take it home and make whatever sort of copies you care to make. Upload it to the web. Whatever. Easy. I could do it, I know that. But I never even thought of doing it because that isn't me. Maybe that's also part of the reason why Bob's music isn't stolen so much. His fans aren't typically that type???

There are some bootlegs out there, I was once offered "Get out of Denver" recorded live in 1974 in Denver and the Schaumberg Illinois show where Seger is supposed to have covered "Whole Lotta Love" (could be, I was at a Santana concert years ago when Carlos did that as one of his encores, to the crowds shock and delight!). Anyway I was offered those 2 bootlegs but at the time I was laid off and broker than a project window so I can't vouch for sound quality.
I remember seeing a vinyl bootleg of a Boston show but the record was in terrible shape so I passed on it, this was from the "Nine Tonight" tour.
Currently I have on order a live show from 1974, I don't know if it is the Denver show or not (I'll post if it comes through).
Seegerfan talks about the concert at the Capitial Centre in Largo MD outside DC in 1980. I ordered a copy of this but when it arrived it was actually a show from Chicago! I was at the Largo show so this was a let down. The tape was made with a hand-held camera and the quality is okay. If I knew how to do it I would post a clip. If anyone knows where I can snag a copy of the Largo show let me know! For that matter the Schaumberg show would be fun to listen to also.
