We are really being flooded by spambots right now. I spent hours deleting over 60 of them yesterday and RMB put in hours deleting over 70 so far today and there are 15 more right now.
I sent an email to an admin asking for some kind of help.
We will do our best to keep this place clean but our real lives will keep us away at times. Wait until a post is more than 24 hours old to report it to us. Please be patient and hope for better times.
Thanks.

Thanks to all those removing this crap.
Isn't there something the rest of us can do beside ignore them & wait 24 hours to report them???? Like maybe spamming them back?

I understand how much you'd like to help, Shelly. I feel the same way.
Unfortunately there is no real way to get back to those spammers. They don't receive email, and the sites they advertise aren't anything you would want to hook your computer into. Good place to fill it up with viruses, and other harmful items.
With the tools available, the only option is for mods to keep deleting.

Maybe this is a coincidence, but for the last 2 days I have been doing this. I know from experience that if I'm writing a post and get a PM, I have to stop writing and physically close the PM first before I can finish the message.
I notice from the profile how many posts they've made and the last time they posted. I then flood them w/PMs and usually within 5 minutes they leave. Without posting anymore.
Coincidence or not?

Shelly, I truly believe that is coincidence. The spammers can spew a large number of spams within a few seconds, or a minute or so anyway, and they're gone. From the way you word your post, it seems you're getting PM spam from these creatures? I've never had that happen. Yet. Although there is no reason why they couldn't do that.
If you flood their PM boxes, I see your point that maybe they can't post at that point. Ahaa, good idea. It is possible that you're knocking them out, and doing everyone a favor.
And having fun while you're at it.
I don't know for sure that it stops them, but it surly can't hurt anything.
I'll try that too.
Everyone could try that. I can see eight members sending PM's to the spamer all at once. :-) :-)

I wrote the admin one or two weeks ago, to no avail. Let's face it. If they'd care, they would at least have posted in here and apologized for all the crap. But they don't.
